Southampton will reportedly fight it out with Leicester and Everton for the signature of Cracowia Krakow midfielder Bartosz Kapustka.
The Saints sent scouts to watch the highly-rated 19-year-old attacking midfielder in action for Poland against Northern Ireland at Euro 2016 in Nice last month and have continued to keep tabs on his situation this summer.
Everton, who now have ex-Foxes assistant manager Steve Walsh on board after he linked up with former Saints chief Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park last week, have also identified Kapustka as a possible summer recruit.
In the meantime, Premier League champions Leicester have attempted to steal a march on the other clubs by making a £6.25million offer for the teenager, possibly knowing Walsh had identified him as a future prospect before leaving the club for the Toffees.
The Foxes will have Champions League football on offer to tempt Kapustka, but the Saints will no doubt fight all the way to try and take him to the south coast.
