Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba says he is determined to win the league title after returning to the Red Devils this summer.
The France international completed his world-record £89million move earlier this month but he was unable to play in United’s first game of the season.
He was suspended for the 3-1 win over Bournemouth but the former Juventus star insists he is feeling fit ahead of Friday’s clash with Southampton.
The 23-year-old reached the final of Euro 2016 with France but he was on the losing side as Portugal recorded a surprise victory.
However, Pogba hopes he will have more joy this season and he has already targeted a league title win, which you can back using your free bet.
He told reporters: “I am just happy to play football, I don’t even think about it.
“My ambition is always be the the number one and be the best. So the objective is to win the league. We want to go back to the Champions League because that is where we belong.”
Pogba is hoping to start on Friday night against the Saints and manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed he will feature in the clash but the playmaker is likely to start on the bench.
“We played against Leicester with players with less training than him and we saw that match as a way to improve them and accelerate the process.
“With Paul it’s a bit the same – not one single minute of any pre-season match but almost two weeks of work with us, sometimes with the group, sometimes separately, and the condition is okay to play some minutes.”
