Chelsea could miss out on top midfield target Paul Pogba as reports claim Manchester City are closing in on a swoop.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for the Juventus star over the past 12 months, and it has been suggested they would step up their attempts to conclude a deal this summer.
However it looks as though they could be pipped by City after reports claimed their new boss Pep Guardiola has told chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak that he wants Pogba on board.
Guardiola, who will stay in charge of Bayern for the remainder of the season, is said to have been impressed after seeing Pogba’s qualities first hand in the recent Champions League clashes with Juve.
Juventus are holding out for a fee in the region of £75million and Chelsea have plenty of work to do if they are to have any chance of taking Pogba from under City’s noses.
Chelsea have put a new midfield enforcer at the top of their wanted list with AS Roma’s Radja Nainggolan also said to be attracting interest.
