Manchester United’s supposed dispute over Paul Pogba’s fee has reportedly resulted in his agent cancelling his proposed medical.
The Red Devils have been looking to secure the signature of the 23-year-old France international midfielder from Italian champions Juventus for several weeks and they are willing to fork out a world record £100million.
It would see Pogba return to Old Trafford four years after he was allowed to move to Juve for a paltry fee, but there now appears to be a hitch in the transfer.
Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, is looking for a near £21million fee to be paid before the transfer can go through with neither United or Juve willing to pay up.
That has left the move firmly in the balance and reports in Spanish daily AS on Tuesday claim the 48-year-old Italian has now cancelled a scheduled medical for Pogba, which was due to take place in Miami where he is currently on a post-Euro 2016 holiday, as part of the deal to take him back to United.
If an agreement is not reached then it threatens to scupper easily the biggest transfer in history to date.
