Tottenham Hotspur’s manager Mauricio Pochettino has signed on to be the face of ‘Championship Manager 17.’

Pochettino believes the game offers a real insight into what it means to be a football manager, and thinks that because the game isn’t easy it honestly represents the trials and tribulations of the job

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, the 44-year-old retired Argentine football player said: “Managing a football club means so much more than just telling your players where to stand on the pitch.

“It’s about detail at every level both on and off the pitch, and making sure you’re as ready for the future as you are for the present.

“‘Championship Manager 17’ represents exactly what it is to be a Manager in the modern game, providing a taste of the trials and triumphs experienced every day at a football club.

“It’s not always easy but the rewards are great, and once you’ve had that taste of success, you’ll be hungry for more.”

The video game features 450 clubs throughout 15 countries and 25 leagues, and there are tens of thousands of players that gamers can sign.

Players can develop training programmes for their teams made easier with the new Intensive Training tool.

The official description of the game reads: “With a new, easier to use interface, ‘Champ Man 17’ delivers the emotion and tension of what it takes to be a real football manager – all at your fingertips.”
