Mauricio Pochettino says a trip to Everton is a tough start to the season but he is already looking forward to the new campaign.
Spurs travel to Goodison Park in the first round of fixtures and manager Pochettino is expecting a stern test from the Merseyside outfit, who now have Ronald Koeman in charge following Roberto Martinez’s exit.
However, after securing a top–four finish and a place in the Champions League last term, the Spurs boss is already relishing the prospect of the start of the new season.
He told the Evening Standard: “All the games in the Premier League are tough but starting at Goodison Park is difficult.
“Like in the last two years here. I remember my first game in the Premier League was at West Ham.
“The second year was against Manchester United at Old Trafford and now Goodison Park – it’s never easy for us.
“But it’s OK. We are excited because we start to feel that the next season is coming.”
