West Brom captain Darren Fletcher has welcomed the addition of winger Matt Phillips following his move from QPR.
Phillips has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time after developing during a three-year stay with QPR.
The 25-year-old has experience of playing in the top-flight after featuring heavily for Blackpool during the 2010-11 campaign before he joined the Rs.
Fletcher, who knows the winger from their time together on international duty with Scotland, believes Phillips will slot in well after agreeing a £5million move on Wednesday.
“He’s definitely a terrific signing for us,” said Fletcher.
“I think he’s a fantastic player and a great addition to the squad – a really good guy too who is going to gel within the dressing room.
“He gets his head down and gets on with things and that’s the kind of character the lads will enjoy having around.”
