PAUL MERSON COLUMN: These are the players Roy Hodgson has to start against Germany

HARRY KANE is now a shoo-in to be the Premier League’s top goalscorer this season.

He’s already top of the pile and he’s in good form, in a team which looks like they could beat a few teams by three or four goals before the end of the season.

Tottenham did that to Bournemouth and I wouldn’t be surprised if they do that again before the season is over.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Jamie Vardy doesn’t score again. He’s had an amazing season but Leicester have shut up shop now.

They’re only winning games 1-0. That tells you a lot. Vardy isn’t the kind of striker who will score hat-tricks or doubles a lot anyway.

Does Romelu Lukaku have a chance? Not if Everton play like they did against Arsenal. They looked like a team busy thinking about the FA Cup semi-final.

Sergio Aguero is still up there as well, but with Manchester City still in the Champions League, he may not even play all their league games.

And if they’re 3-0 up, he’ll be the fi rst one coming off to preserve his energy and stop him getting injured, so it’s advantage Kane.
