PAUL MERSON COLUMN: Leicester without Vardy, Martinez to get axed and Norwich to go down

ROBERTO MARTINEZ will be gone by the end of the season because Everton are going to lose today’s FA Cup semi final and it will be his fault.

I don’t see how they can win after what happened in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday. They just laid down and rolled over. Liverpool won 4-0 and by the end they were taking the mickey.

Martinez looked utterly lost on the touchline, like he couldn’t believe what was going on – both sets of fans were mocking him.

There’s no coming back from that. Everton got rinsed and his players looked like they weren’t even trying for him if I’m being honest.

When Ramiro Funes Mori got sent off it looked like they’d had three players sent off, not one. It was that bad. It was a disgusting tackle as well. It could have broken his leg.

But Martinez only has himself to blame. Why did he play his best team? He should have done that against Southampton and then rested a few.

Then he took Ross Barkley off, who looked like the only one capable of doing anything, when Romelu Lukaku did absolutely nothing all game.

People make strange decisions when they’re under pressure and he got his all wrong. It doesn’t look good for him, and losing at Wembley could be the end of him.
