Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish is hoping for FA Cup glory next weekend so the club can attract major players this summer.
The Eagles are preparing for the cup final against Manchester United at Wembley on May 21 – a repeat of the famous final from 1990 that ended 3-3 before United won the replay 1-0 – and Parish is looking forward to the occasion.
Palace are after a first major domestic trophy in their history, as well as securing a place in Europe for next season and Parish admits winning the FA Cup would be a moment to treasure, but also because it could make Selhurst an even more attractive destination for players in the summer transfer window.
“A London club possibly in Europe, what a draw that would be,” he said on Sky Sports.
“Even if we don’t make it, it puts us on the map being in the final and being in the Premier League for four years, so absolutely a great draw and I think we’ll get some exciting players that want to come to the club.”
