Crystal Palace are set launch a bid for highly-rated Brighton defender Lewis Dunk this summer, according to reports.
Dunk has gained plenty of experience since coming through the ranks with the south-coast club having played over 150 times in all competitions.
Palace are understood to have been monitoring the central defender for some time and reports claim a £5million bid has already been rejected.
Alan Pardew is keen to add to his defensive line following the release of Brede Hangeland and Adrian Mariappa, while Scott Dann has been linked with a move away.
The Eagles boss believes the key to improvement for Palace is to tighten up defensively and he sees the 24-year-old as the man to provide stability.
Reports claim that Newcastle are also interested in Dunk and Palace may need to move quickly in order to steal a march on the Championship side.
