Crystal Palace face a battle to land Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani as Arsenal and Leicester are both said to be keen.
Eagles boss Alan Pardew has put a top quality striker at the top of his wanted list this summer and has been tracking Slimani for some time with a view to making a bid.
Pardew made an approach during the January transfer window, only to be told by Sporting that their star striker is going nowhere, but he will not be deterred.
The Algeria international caught the eye when firing home 31 goals for Sporting this season and the Portuguese side are now bracing themselves for further offers.
Slimani is thought to have a £23million release clause in his contract and Palace could be ready to activate it in the near future, although they will face a huge battle to land him.
Arsenal and Leicester are also keen and the chance to play Champions League football is likely to win the day if either club steps up their interest.
