Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is keen to bring in some attacking reinforcements this summer and has been linked with Fiorentina’s Khouma Babacar recently.

The Eagles could launch a double raid on the Italian top flight as Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport say they are interested in Defrel, who managed seven goals and six assists for the Serie A side last term.

The 24-year-old penned a long-term deal with Sassuolo when he joined from Cesena last summer and the Neroverdi are keen to keep hold of the forward, but it is understood a bid in the region of £10million may be enough to convince them to sell.

It has been claimed Defrel would welcome a move to the Premier League but Palace could face competition as Swansea have also been linked with the forward.
