Crystal Palace are reported to be finally closing in on a deal to sign non-league striker Freddie Ladapo, who has impressed on trial.
The 23-year-old recently fired home a hat-trick as the Eagles under-21s hammered Watford 5-0 and Palace have been working hard to get a deal done ever since.
Last week Palace loaned Corie Andrews to Margate, and that deal seems to have cleared the way for Ladapo to move in the opposite direction.
Andrews replaced Ladapo in the Margate side at the weekend, and after the Palace target did not even make the squad, a deal looks sure to go through in the coming days.
Watford and a number of other Premier League clubs were known to be showing an interest in Ladapo, but Palace are in the box seat and look to have fought off the competition.
