Olivier Giroud opens up on being booed by France fans: It’s never nice

He also has a proud record against Germany, having scored twice against them, including in their last meeting in November, the friendly which was overshadowed by the horrific shootings in Paris that night.

“I scored my first goal for France against them in February 2012 – it’s a good memory,” added Giroud.

“But our record against them in competitive matches is something we’re going to have to change because they’re a bit like our bogey side.”

While Tottenham star Harry Kane looked jaded after a long, hard season Giroud – who has three goals at the Euros – has looked in tip-top condition.

“I think I played almost 63 games even if I did not start a lot of them,” he added.

“I feel good physically and mentally. We all want to write a good page in history and we feel very good. We feel strong.”
