Leeds boss Steve Evans has quashed talk he will make a late attempt to land Norwich’s Kyle Lafferty before the loan window shuts.
Lafferty is desperate to leave Carrow Road in search of first-team football ahead of Euro 2016, having been a peripheral figure for the Canaries this season.
The Northern Ireland international has been linked with a move to Elland Road since the January transfer window but the two clubs have been unable to come to an agreement on the terms of a loan.
Evans has now conceded defeat in his attempt to sign the former Rangers man, as he feels he has enough options in attack to see him through until the end of the season.
Evans said: “As a coach youÂ’re always looking, just to see whatÂ’s available and whatÂ’s not, but IÂ’d be doing the boys in the dressing room a disservice if I wasnÂ’t looking inward first.
“I think when we look at the options weÂ’ve got, not only on the bench but some players who arenÂ’t even getting stripped, it shows you weÂ’re getting stronger.”
