Norwich 1 Bristol City 0: Jonny Howson strike keeps Canaries at the top

The Robins had made a fine start to the season, winning their first three fixtures for the first time in 15 years.

But they hadn’t kept a clean sheet on their last 16 visits to Norwich and the Canaries captain kept that wretched run going on 38 minutes to help lift his side up to second in the table.

Right-back Ivo Pinto picked out midfielder Wes Hoolahan in the penalty area and his instant assist allowed Howson to pick his spot from 12 yards.

Lee Johnson’s in-form side arrived sitting in second place in the table.
