Norwich 0 Manchester City 0: City’s title hopes suffer a huge blow at Carrow Road

But apart from the hard-working Aguero – and occasionally David Silva – there wasn’t a soul in a blue shirt who bothered Norwich that much.

All of which left their relegation-threatened boss, Alex Neil, wondering what might have been.

He faces a battle just to stay in the Premier League but is confident his Canaries can do it.

Neil said: “I have always believed we are good enough to stay up and I didn’t need this performance, good as it was, to prove that.

“We were pinned back for long spells but if anyone wants to know how much Norwich City players want to stay in this league they just need to watch our recent games.

“We limited Manchester City to very little but now we need to win matches against teams around us and we’ll be ok.

“In the last four or five matches the players have put every single thing they’ve got on the line. I’m really pleased for them.

“This is one of the first times they got their rewards for their efforts so this will bolster their belief hopefully.”
