Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen will not be leaving the Catalan giants to replace Simon Mignolet at Liverpool.
Those are the views of his team-mate Gerard Pique after rumours of a summer move resurfaced for the German who has failed to oust Claudio Bravo from the number one spot at the club.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach stopper joined the club for 14m euros in 2014 but has only featured four times in La Liga and has been linked with a move away – but defender Pique says that will not happen.
“Since you’re asking me, Ter Stegen isn’t going. No one wants to leave Barcelona,” the former Manchester United centre-back told Mundo Deportivo.
“We are Barca, and to be at this club is the greatest happiness a player could have. This club, this city, this fanbase, we have it all. I’m convinced everyone will stay.”
Despite signing a new deal in January, Mignolet has consistently been linked with an exit from Anfield after a series of mixed performances.
