Newcastle are among the clubs said to be showing an interest in Nimes striker Anthony Koura ahead of a potential summer bid.
The 22-year-old has caught the eye while playing for the French Ligue 2 side this season and looks set to be offered the chance of a move to the Premier League.
Koura can play on the wing or as an out-and-out striker and has shown his class when firing home nine goals this season.
Newcastle’s chances of doing a deal for the youngster will hinge on them staying in the Premier League, and all efforts are focused on beating the drop for now.
Nimes are facing up to the prospect of losing their star forward but will hold out for a fee in the region of £2million, with Stoke and Arsenal also said to be interested.
