Nigeria 0-2 Germany
Horst Hrubesch’s Germany side ensured European representation in the gold-medal match with a goal in either half of Wednesday’s second semi-final. Leipzig defender Lukas Klostermann made it advantage Germany by converting Max Meyer’s ninth-minute cross at the end of a sweeping move. Substitute Nils Petersen later removed any doubt about the outcome at the Arena Corinthians, angling home the 89th-minute clincher following Davie Selke’s cross-shot. It put the seal on a clinical German performance.

Rio de Janeiro
Two Neymar goals bookended an emphatic Brazilian success. The forward gave the hosts the lead inside 15 seconds at the Maracanã before slotting an added-time penalty. For the opener, the captain caught Johnny Palacios in possession and though his shot was blocked by goalkeeper Luis López, the ball ricocheted back off Neymar and into the net. New Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus scored twice in ten first-half minutes, each time racing clear to finish with aplomb. Marquinhos tucked in the 51st-minute fourth before Luan added the fifth.
