‘Next Manchester United manager hopefully!’ – Fans react to Gary Neville’s Valencia sacking

30 Mar

Gary Neville has been sacked by Valencia after only four months in charge.

The former Manchester United and England star took his first steps into management by taking control of the La Liga side in December, but he failed to replace outgoing boss Nuno adequately.

Neville took charge of 28 games, overseeing only 10 victories, and he managed to pick up just 14 points from 16 La Liga fixtures.

The 41-year-old only had a contract until the end of the season, and it was expected that he would leave in the summer anyway, but owner Peter Lim has decided to cut Neville loose with eight games of the campaign left.

Fans took to Twitter to react to the news that Neville had been sacked, with people calling for him to either be named Manchester United manager, or return to his punditry role with Sky Sports.
