Lazio have enquired over the availability of Newcastle flop Florian Thauvin.
The attacking midfielder only moved to St James’ Park last summer after the club paid £15m to sign him from Marseille.
However, the Frenchman was loaned back there in January after a disappointing six months with Newcastle.
Marseille are now open to signing Thauvin back permanently and they have held preliminary talks with the player’s agent.
But, according to reports in Italy, Lazio have now also registered their interest in the 23-year-old.
Newcastle are happy for Thauvin to go to either club – as long as they can recoup as much of the £15m they shelled out for him last summer.
