Newcastle flop Remy Cabella is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Marseille.
The midfielder is coming towards the end of a season-long loan at the French club but Newcastle have no intention of having him back at St James’ Park.
According to Le 10 Sport, negotiations are underway between the two clubs about completing a permanent transfer and a deal is set to be announced before the end of the season.
Newcastle paid £8million for Cabella back in July 2014 but he failed to make an impression in the Premier League, scoring just one goal in 34 appearances.
However, the 26-year-old has enjoyed a better time of it in Ligue 1 this term, finding the net six times.
And now Marseille want Cabella for keeps and Newcastle are prepared to accept around half the fee they paid Montpellier for him two years ago.
