Manchester United are reportedly ahead of Rangers and a few English clubs in the race to sign teenage Livingston forward Matthew Knox.
The Scotland Under-17 international will spend this week at the Red Devils’ Carrington base just a few months after a successful trial spell training with the club earlier this year.
Rangers have made several approaches to Livingston for Knox, who became the youngest player to play for the club when he made his debut just just four days after his 16th birthday last December.
The Ibrox club had a bid of £75,000 rejected by the League One side back in January with the club looking for at least double that fee for one of the hottest properties north of the border.
Knox has also trained at Rangers’ Murray Park and has reportedly had trial spells at Liverpool, Spurs, Everton and Nottingham Forest in recent months.
The Daily Record claim the player would favour a move ‘down south’ to England.
