Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has given the green light for a new three-year contract for young striker Lynden Gooch.
The 20-year-old has been rewarded for his progress into the Under-21 team this season and the second two years of the three-year deal are at senior level, which shows how much confidence the club has in the youngster.
The USA Under-23 international becomes the latest in a long line of youngters at the club who have put pen to paper on new deals in recent weeks.
Contracts for senior players will be sorted at the end of the season when the first team’s future is confirmed one way or another.
