New Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo was reportedly looking at the Baggies stopper as one of his first signings this summer but Albion are hoping to keep hold of the 33-year-old and there has been no interest from Villa yet.

Di Matteo knows the keeper well after he signed him when in charge at the Hawthorns in 2010 but Myhill impressed when he stood in for first-choice Ben Foster last season during his lengthy injury and he seems set to stay put.

Anders Lindegaard, however, is expected to be moved on with the 32-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Preston, having no long-term future with Albion and a return to Deepdale, provided the newly-promoted Championship club can afford him, looks on the cards this summer.
