Sunderland boss David Moyes has urged his players to believe anything can happen as they prepare for the new season.
The 53-year-old is still looking to add to his squad before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month but he is happy with the fitness of the players he has and their form.
Moyes will watch his players in action in their last pre-season friendly on Friday night when they take on Borussia Dortmund in Austria and the new boss wants more from his players.
“Playing a team of the level of Borussia Dortmund is what I hoped for because I want to test ourselves and play against the best teams,” he told the club’s website.
“We have to try and get ourselves to a level of performance because we’re going into big games.
“I’m hoping to see more from the players whose performances and fitness has improved, and they sound as if they’ve had a really good pre-season.”
