Sunderland manager David Moyes says he would be happy to sign Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj if they wanted to join the club.
Moyes addressed some of the transfer rumours that have been associated with the Black Cats since he took charge and the inevitable reports linking him with possible moves for former players Januzaj and Fellaini.
“If any of those good players want to join me I’d be happy to have them,” he said.
“They’re excellent players. We’re interested but I’m sure there’s a load of other clubs that are as well.”
Fellaini, who Moyes took to Old Trafford from Everton – another of his former clubs, is in the last year of his contract at United.
Although there have been no reports of contract renewal talks for the Belgian, he was involved in United’s pre-season win over Galatasaray and scored.
Januzaj is thought to be available and has been linked with Ajax and AC Milan in the past week, while reports suggesting Villarreal are interested appear to be wide of the mark.
“We’re interested in lots of good players,” added Moyes.
“You have to have a realistic view. There’ll be some players we can attract just now and some players we can’t.
“We’ll try and get the ones we can and the ones who want to come here and start on the new journey we’re on.
“We have offers in for people already and we’re working hard. I’ve been really impressed by the new chief executive (Martin Bain).”
