John Obi Mikel wants assurances over the amount of games he will play next season or he will look to leave Chelsea.
The Nigerian midfielder hardly figured under the leadership of Jose Mourinho, but got more game-time when he left, and now wants to know what the future holds for him at Stamford Bridge.
Mikel will seek talks with new Blues boss Antonio Conte to see what the future holds for him, but will have to wait until Italy’s involvement in Euro 2016 is over.
Conte is in the hunt for a new defensive midfielder to bolster his ranks with Radja Nainggolan and Axel Witsel on his wanted list, so it does not look good for Mikel.
The midfielder would be pushed further down the pecking order and is sure to go in search of more regular first-team football if that is the case.
