Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet insists he is not feeling any extra pressure since Joe Hart was linked with a move to Anfield.
The Manchester City stopper looks set to leave the Etihad Stadium in the coming days, following Claudio Bravo’s arrival from Barcelona.
After being linked with Everton, the England international is now reportedly attracting interest from Liverpool but a bid has yet to materialise.
Mignolet has conceded six goals in just three games so far but the Belgian insists he does not feel under pressure despite the rumours.
He told Goals on Sunday: “There is no point looking over my shoulder, I have to look in the mirror and look at myself. If I keep performing then there is nothing to worry about.
“I think speculation is part of being at a big club like Liverpool. I think every day another player gets linked and that’s not going to change, so I’m used to that.
“I just keep my head down and work hard. Competition for places is good. You need that throughout the team because you’re going to have suspensions and injuries and everybody needs to be able to step up when needed.”
