Adam Lallana says Liverpool will now concentrate on the Europa League and the Premier League following Sunday’s Wembley heartbreak.
The 27-year-old was one of the players guilty of failing to convert a penalty in the defeat to Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final, along with Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho, as the Reds lost the hard-fought final.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are still involved in the Europa League, where they play bitter rivals Manchester United in the next round, and can still push for a Europa League spot in the Premier League itself.
Lallana told the club’s official website: “We are still in the Europa League so hopefully that will give us even more incentive to push on and do well in that competition.
“A few words were said after the game, not many, but the few words was that we have got to push on now in the Europa League.
“We have got a great fixture against Manchester United to look forward to which is massive, the fans will love that, we love that and we have just got to pick ourselves up and go again.”
