Hull City have been hit by the news that midfield target Ryan Mason wants to stay and fight for his place at Tottenham.
Mason burst on to the scene two years ago and his performances led to him being called up to the England squad but he has since slipped down from those lofty heights and is now struggling for first-team football at White Hart Lane.
Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele are currently keeping him out of the Spurs side and reports have suggested that Hull and Crystal Palace could offer him a route out.
However, rather than move on, he wants to stay and win his place back at Spurs.
“Two seasons ago me and Nabil (Bentaleb) started almost every game together in midfield and last season it was different,” Mason, speaking as part of the Farah menswear #MatchReady campaign, said.
“So next season it is not a foregone conclusion that any player will be starting.”
