Chelsea may have to look elsewhere for a new midfielder after Roma insisted Radja Nainggolan is not for sale this summer.
Antonio Conte is keen to draft in a new defensive midfielder this summer and Nainggolan has been heavily linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge when the transfer window opens.
It was thought that Chelsea would have to pay in the region of £30million to secure a deal, but Roma president James Pallotta has insisted neither Nainggollan nor Miralem Pjanic are for sale.
“I already said that we’re not going to sell Pjanic and Nainggolan,” he told Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Chelsea do have other targets, including Leicester City star N’Golo Kante and Juventus star Paul Pogba, but they may not give up on Nainggolan just yet despite Roma’s stance.
