AS Roma are refusing to do a deal with Chelsea for their star midfielder Radja Nainggolan this summer, reports have claimed.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has put a new box-to-box midfielder at the top of his wanted list and Nainggolan is a target along with Leicester City star N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba of Juventus.
Reports over the weekend claimed that Kante was Conte’s top target because of his Premier League experience, and that could still be the case, but Nainggolan also remains on his radar.
However it looks as though Chelsea could be fighting a losing battle as there is no release clause in the player’s contract and Roma appear to be under no pressure to sell.
Reports in the Italian press suggest Chelsea are ready to pay a fee totalling £27.5million, but Roma will knock back all offers after insisting he is not for sale.
It has also been suggested the Belgium international is in no rush to move to the Premier League, meaning Chelsea could turn all their focus back to Kante.
