Liam Bridcutt’s on-off move to Leeds United could be back on after the midfielder was omitted from Sunderland’s pre-season tour squad.
The 27-year-old spent a seven-month loan spell at Elland Road last season, endearing himself to the Leeds faithful with a series of tenacious displays in the middle of the park.
And, although the Yorkshire club have not made any attempt to sign him yet this summer, Bridcutt’s camp apparently think he could end up back at Leeds now that his Sunderland future finally appears to be clear.
The Black Cats jetted out to France to continue their pre-season preparations with new boss David Moyes – but without Bridcutt.
Reports claim Sunderland want £1.5million for the ex-Brighton star, who earns in the region of £26,000 a week – a figure Leeds are unlikely to be able to match.
