Mick McCarthy left fuming at his fans after derby draw

Two flares went off but sadly there was little flair on the pitch itself in a dour derby.

Norwich had a lucky escape early on when Jonathan Douglas’ third minute strike was wrongly ruled offside.

And the Canaries went ahead after 27 minutes with their first real attack of the game.

Jonny Howson fed striker Cameron Jerome who fired in off the post from the edge of the area.

But Ipswich, who have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 17 games against the Canaries, fought their way back just seconds before the break when Dane Jonas Knudsen drilled home through a crowd.
