Clinton Njie passed a medical on Saturday and is set to join Marseille on a loan deal including the right to purchase him for £5.8m.
The Cameroon international was told by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino that he could leave after being omitted from the club’s pre-season tour squad.
Marseille believe they have beaten off competition from Njie’s former club Lyon to sign the 22-year-old with Georges-Kevin N’Koudou moving in the opposite direction, according to La Provence.
N’Koudou, 21, scored ten goals in his debut season for Marseille after a £1m move from Nantes, but the cash-strapped French giants have agreed to make a quick profit after agreeing a £10.8m sale with Spurs.
Njie will travel to Marseille next week to complete the formalities of the deal and be introduced to the local fans and media.
