Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has reportedly told Nemanja Matic he wants him to reject any interest from Juventus and stay with the Blues.
The 28-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge has looked uncertain this summer following Conte’s arrival, but the latest reports suggest the Italian coach is happy to keep the midfielder and views him as integral to his plans this season.
Juve have been tracking the Serbia international and had hoped to prise him away from the Londoners, but it appears he’s set to stay and be part of the Conte era.
There are other reports on Friday which suggest Conte would, however, be willing to let Cesc Fabregas leave and again Juve are the club being linked with a bid for the Spaniard.
The former Arsenal man is settled at Chelsea, though, and it would be a major surprise if Conte casts him aside.
Forward Pedro’s future is also the subject of speculation and he could be allowed to return to Spain, as he may struggle to force his way into Conte’s first-team plans on a regular basis this season following the arrival of Michy Batshuayi, while the Blues remain interested in Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
If the Belgian returns to Stamford Bridge, Pedro could be marginalised further and may seek a move back to Spain where there are a handful of clubs queuing up for him.
