Liverpool is creating 1,000 new match day jobs at Anfield as a result of the £260m project to extend the Main Stand, the club has announced.

An additional 8,500 fans will be able to attend the ground with the overall capacity of the stadium rising to 54,000.

Jobs being advertised are within the kitchen, retail, catering, safety, hospitality, tours and museum teams.

The club said it was the “biggest recruitment drive in its history”.

Anfield’s expanded Main Stand will seat 20,500 fans, making it one of the biggest all-seater single stands in Europe, the club said.

Lise Jenkins, human resources director at Liverpool said the club was committed to “creating opportunities for local people” and “giving fans the best possible experience”.
