Hull target Ryan Mason has set his sights on staying with Tottenham and fighting for his first-team place at White Hart Lane.
The 25-year-old made 29 appearances in all competitions last term as he struggled with injuries and found it hard to force his way back into contention.
Rumours of a move away have been rife, with Hull ready to pay £10million to bring him to the KC Stadium.
However, Mason hopes now he has fully recovered from injury, he can start again this summer as he looks to dislodge the likes of Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele in the Spurs side.
Mason said: “I think I started four or five of the first games, got injured against Sunderland and when I came back, the team was flying and the midfielders were doing well and it was very difficult to break into that.
“That’s part of football, it’s a clean slate in pre-season when I go back and hopefully I can work my way into a place.
“Two seasons ago me and Nabil [Bentaleb] started almost every game together in midfield and last season it was different. So next season it is not a foregone conclusion that Eric Dier and Mousa [Dembele] will be in there.”
