There’s no love lost between Mario Balotelli and Jamie Carragher.
After the Liverpool striker agreed a free transfer to Nice on deadline day, Carragher quickly took to social media to comically state the Ligue 1 outfit had paid over the odds.
And Balotelli has hit back, four days later.
The Italian has taken to his own Twitter account in response to the comment, further damaging his reputation with the Anfield faithful by describing the former defender as a ‘bad player’ and ‘wonderful hater’.
The 26-year-old was signed by Brendan Rodgers for £16m in August 2014, but after just one Premier League goal in his debut campaign on Merseyside, was shipped out on loan to AC Milan the following summer.
His form was similarly poor at the San Siro, and it remains to be seen how he performs with his new club in France.
