Manchester United’s newest academy star Marcus Rashford made a dream start for England’s Under-21s.
The 18-year-old striker, who went to the Euros with the senior Three Lions squad, started for Gareth Southgate’s men in the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifier.
Rashford has only made one Premier League appearance for the Red Devils this term, with Jose Mourinho opting not to use him from the bench in their opening two fixtures. But in their last outing before the international break, Rashford came on to score an injury-time winner at Hull.
Can the strike at the KCOM and his display for the Three Lions’ youth side force him into Jose Mourinho’s reckoning ahead of the Manchester derby?
And now the Old Trafford academy product, making his debut for the Under-21s, continued to impress as he scored against Norway in front of watching senior boss Sam Allardyce.
In the last year, Rashford has now scored on his Europa League debut, Premier League debut, senior England debut and NOW his England Under-21s debut.
It was typical Rashford, too. A good turn of pace to beat the defender and race towards goal before finishing coolly – see below…
