Manuel Pellegrini and Jurgen Klopp slam Premier League over fixture scheduling

City boss Pellegrini branded the Premier League’s decision to force his side to play late tomorrow afternoon as “unbelievable”.

He is furious that his side has to kick-off on the south coast at Southampton in a televised game that starts at 4.30pm.

And Liverpool boss Klopp cannot believe his side are playing at midday tomorrow against Swansea – just 56 hours after they returned home from their Europa League defeat in Villarreal.

City head to Madrid for their crunch Champions League semi-final decider against Real on Wednesday, and Pellegrini is furious the authorities would not help City’s preparations.

He said: “For me it is unbelievable, but if you see other leagues, including Italy, the teams that play Champions League play their domestic games on a Friday.
