Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly launch a bid for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic in the summer transfer window.
Spurs are right in the hunt for a surprise Premier League title win this season and are just two points adrift of table-toppers Leicester City going into the weekend’s action.
A Champions League place is almost assured for the Lilywhites, with 10 points the gap to Manchester United in fifth, and thoughts are already turning towards the transfer plans for the next campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino has been looking to bolster his attacking options to provide some back-up for England international Harry Kane, but the Argentine is yet to find a suitable target.
However, it now appears that Mandzukic is top of his wishlist and, as long as Tottenham qualify for Europe’s elite competition, the striker could be on his way to White Hart Lane.
The Croatian only arrived at Juventus last summer but the Italian champions may be tempted to sell if an offer around the 25million euros mark comes in.
