Manchester United’s confidence and control during Bournemouth win pleases Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho believes his Manchester United team are more confident under his command and are praised the way they killed off the game.

Juan Mata rewarded Mourinho’s faith in starting him by opening the scoring before Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic added goals two and three.

The Red Devils did let a late consolation goal in from Adam Smith but Mourinho was pleased with the ease that they kept control of the game to claim the win.

He said: “We were aggressive, we were objective in the way we were trying to kill the game and attack the spaces.

“We took control and were comfortable as the game reached minute 94 and got the points.

“We have a lot of work to do, individually and collectively, but what we are doing, the result is there.

“The team is more confident, more objective and they are not afraid to take risks.

“At the same time they are very compact and very tactical when we’re not in possession, but we still have a lot to do.”
