Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho made contact with West Ham boss Slaven Bilic for advice on Oguzhan Ozyakup, a report in Turkey has claimed.
The Portuguese boss has been linked with a move for the former Arsenal midfielder, who has impressed in four seasons as a first-team player at Besiktas.
And, according to Fanatik, the Old Trafford boss got in touch with Bilic to quiz him about Ozyakup’s qualities.
The Croatian knows all about the midfielder having managed him at Besiktas between 2013 and 2015.
Ozyakup has also been linked with a summer switch to east London this summer as Bilic bids to reinforce his squad in time for the club’s first season at the Olympic Stadium.
But it has been suggested that Manchester is his more likely destination, with Mourinho ready to sanction a bid for the 23-year-old, who came through the ranks at Arsenal before moving to Turkey in 2012.
