Manchester United target Breel Embolo features in Switzerland’s Euro 2016 opener – fans’ verdict: ‘Pace, strength and vision – I’m impressed!’
Breel Embolo came on as a second-half substitute for Switzerland on Saturday and sent Manchester United fans into meltdown.
As Vladimir Petkovic’s side got their Euro 2016 campaign underway with a 1-0 victory over Albania in Group A, Red Devils fans saw it as a good opportunity to scout one of the club’s transfer targets.
As talkSPORT reported on Friday, German newspaper Leipziger Volkszeitung believe United have trumped RB Leipzig’s £15m offer and have opened talks with Embolo and his representatives.
The 19-year-old forward bagged 12 goals for Swiss Super League side FC Basel last season and his displays caught the attention of clubs across Europe.
Following rumours Jose Mourinho is closing in on his second Old Trafford signing – after securing Eric Bailly’s services this week – Red Devils fans were split, some getting excited and some writing him off already.
Embolo came on after 62 minutes, replacing Admir Mehmedi – see some of the best Twitter reaction, below:
