Manchester United FC team news: Predicted XI to face Everton in the FA Cup semi-final

Manchester United’s pursuit of a top four finish goes on hiatus this weekend as Louis van Gaal takes his side to Wembley for the first time since taking the Old Trafford hotseat.

The Red Devils face struggling Everton in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday evening after an impressive showing against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night where they could have scored five if not for an in form Julian Speroni in goal.

Wayne Rooney impressed in a centre midfield role behind the dangerous duo of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, while Matteo Darmian excelled in the left back berth.

Van Gaal has always voiced his admiration of the FA Cup and was bitterly disappointed not to at least make the semi-final stage last season.

United must be considered favourites for the trophy with Crystal Palace and Watford battling it out on the other side of the draw and silverware could be the only thing to save Van Gaal’s job for another season.

There are no new injuries to be taken into consideration with even Luke Shaw nearing a return from his horrific broken leg at the start of the season.
