Ray Wilkins insists Manchester United are NOT in crisis – and says it is only a matter of time before Paul Pogba comes good.
After winning their first four matches under Jose Mourinho, United have suffered three defeats in eight days.
Pogba has been among the most disappointing performers and the midfielder has yet to justify the world record £89million fee it cost to prise him from Juventus.
But Wilkins believes the Frenchman and his teammates will soon start firing for Mourinho and insists their disappointing form will prove to be just a minor slump.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, the ex-United midfielder said: “Yes, they have lost games, but I don’t see where there is a crisis at this moment in time.
“Because it is Manchester United everyone will jump on the bandwagon.
“The mix doesn’t appear to be right but Pogba carries a hell of a weight on his shoulders by being the wealthiest footballer on the planet.
“He is 23 years of age, there is a hell of a lot for him to carry, but he has the ability. We have all seen it and if anybody else would have had the money to have paid for him they would have gone and got him, therefore he is a great buy for Manchester United and he will come to fruition at some stage.”
